Swimming in a tidal pool refreshes and boosts physical and mental health.
You can enjoy an ocean breeze and beautiful surroundings while remaining safe from unpredictable ocean currents.
The Western Cape's frigid waters may boost circulation, and the immune system and enhance your mood by releasing endorphins.
Sea water also contains rich minerals like magnesium, potassium and iodine, which benefit the skin and overall health while reducing stress.
"You're getting a full mental and physical workout when you're out in a tidal pool," says van der Westhuizen.
