Magistrate Anthea Ramos was set to hand down judgment against Botha on Friday but instead instructed the State to call in another witness.
The State's case implicates Botha for the attempted rape of a student in the shower room at the Athlone Nursing College in 2014.
Botha denies attempting to rape the complainant and claims he was at the college to look for his girlfriend.
Defence attorney Kyle Petersen said Ramos was not ready to hand down her judgment on Friday.
"She wishes to call another witness, the witness being a lady named Ashima, the one that Mr Botha was in a relationship with at the time."
Ramos postponed the matter to 25 November for the State to call in the witness.
