New King Shaka statue will enhance cultural tourism in KZN, says Premier Ntuli

DURBAN - KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thami Ntuli said that the statue of King Shaka, which was unveiled at the King Shaka International Airport in Durban, would enhance cultural tourism.
President Cyril Ramaphosa, the KZN provincial government, and the Zulu royal family unveiled a statue of the late Zulu monarch, who is considered one of the founders of the AmaZulu nation, on Thursday.
Ntuli said this would not only honour the memory of the late monarch but contribute to the province’s economy.
The Premier said local communities would also benefit from this.
"Luhlanga Lezwe - this statue marks the beginning of a renewed focus on cultural tourism, empowering local communities and attracting visitors to experience the depth of our traditions, values, and stories."
