Visuals emerging from the capital, Maputo, showed police firing rubber bullets and stun grenades at protesters, as news of an election recount is expected to be announced.
Border Management Authority (BMA) head, Michael Masiapato:
"On the Maputo side, they are going to announce the outcome of the recount of the elections. One thing that is very much clear, if the outcome of the recount is still favouring the ruling party, it means that the protest itself is likely to continue and that is likely to continue to impact us as well and that is the problem we are facing."
