WC top cop Patekile praises the recovery of firearms & arrest of suspects in Mitchells Plain

CAPE TOWN - Five firearms seized from a house in Mitchells Plain, will be sent for ballistics testing, to determine whether they were used in any crimes.
The police's Anti-Gang Unit recovered the weapons during an intelligence-driven operation on Monday, after receiving a tip-off.
The information led officers to a residence in Lentegeur, where officers found firearms hidden in a makeshift cupboard, in the main bedroom of a separate entrance.
The police's Frederick Van Wyk says a man and a woman in their thirties have been arrested.
"Western Cape Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant-General Thembisile Patekile has lauded the swift arrest of the suspects and the recovery of the firearms, stating that the commendable achievement is a significant breakthrough in the ongoing battle against the proliferation of illegal firearms in the province."
