JOHANNESBURG - Former Minister of Sports Zizi Kodwa will return to the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court on Friday for a ruling on his bid to have his charges withdrawn.
Kodwa allegedly received bribes of nearly R1.7 million from former EOH company boss Jehan Mackay in exchange for government contracts.
The pair has made representations to the Director for Public Prosecutions (DPP) to consider dropping their charges.

Kodwa and Mackay believe there is no reasonable prospect for a successful prosecution in the State’s case against them.
They have previously told the court that they are more than prepared to prove the State has no tangible evidence linking them to their alleged crimes.
The charge sheet, however, shows that Kodwa received 14 payments from Mackay between 2015 and 2016 and funded his holiday at a luxurious Cape Town accommodation.
The pair have made submissions to the DPP in a bid to have their corruption charges dropped.
The DPP was initially meant to make a ruling in October but was still reviewing the matter and is expected to make a decision on Friday.
