JOHANNESBURG - Motorists may have to dig deeper into their pockets to fill up their tanks this month.

Current unaudited fuel data from the central energy fund forecasting an increase for all grades of fuel in November.

According to the data, 93 and 95 unleaded petrol are expected to increase by 14 and 25 cents a litre.

Diesel is expected to increase by around 22 cents a litre.

The Automobile Association said several factors have played a role in the expected increases.

“The movement in international product prices increased sharply mid-month but slowed towards the end of the month, cushioning what would otherwise be an even wider under-recovery. The average rand to us dollar exchange is also adding an impactful but smaller margin to the expected increases," said spokesperson, Eleanor Mavimbela.
