It is considered one of the five most expensive rare coins in the world.
The coin was minted during the South African Republic's war with the British Empire and is the only one of its kind.
The South African mint attempted to create a new currency with coins marked with a '9' to denote the year of production.
After only one coin was stamped with the single 9 the British government intervened.
This left only the Single Pond 9 which became known as the King of SA Coins.
Bassani expects this coin to go for as much as R30 million.
The auction will take place in Texas, but Bassani believes the coin would sell for much more at a South African auction.
