CAPE TOWN - England edged Banyana Banyana 2-1 in their international friendly match in Coventry on Tuesday night.
The hosts opened the scoring in the 12th minute with Leah Williamson finding the back of the net. They went 2-0 up 10 minutes later when Grace Clinton headed in past goalkeeper, Kaylin Swart.
After the break, Banyana Banyana made two changes with Andile Dlamini replacing Swart and Kholoso Biyana coming on for Sinoxolo Cesane.
The visitors pulled a goal back in the 54th minute when Thembi Kgatlana intercepted a weak pass from the England left back to the central midfielder just inside the England half. Kgatlana made a beeline for the England goal and cooly slotted past the England goalkeeper with the covering defender bearing down on her.

Kgatlana did have the ball in the back of the net in the 73rd minute but she was ruled off side.
Both sides had a few more chances to score but great goalkeeping kept the scores as they were.
Banyana will make their return to South Africa on Wednesday where they will begin preparations for the next FIFA window in November.
