PICS: Miss SA Mia le Roux ready to 'break barriers' at Miss Universe pageant
The 73rd Miss Universe pageant will be held in Mexico City on Saturday, 16 November.

Miss South Africa 2024 Mia le Roux was in good spirits when she departed for Mexico for the 73rd Miss Universe pageant.
The pageant will be held in Mexico City on Saturday, 16 November.
Le Roux made history as the first hearing-impaired woman to be crowned Miss South Africa.

She will look to become South Africa’s fourth Miss Universe.
Previous winners include Margaret Gardiner (1978), Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters (2017), and Zozibini Tunzi (2019).
Taking to Instagram, Le Roux said she feels honoured to have this once in a life time opportunity.
“I am so grateful to wear South Africa within my heart. I cannot wait to show them what it means to be a South African where we carry within us the spirit of ubuntu which means ‘I am, because we are.’ Let’s go break barriers!”
