EThekwini the epicentre of crime in KwaZulu-Natal, says Police Minister Mchunu

DURBAN - Police Minister Senzo Mchunu has labeled eThekwini as the epicentre of crime in KwaZulu-Natal.
He was speaking at the launch of the safer festive season initiative in the province on Thursday.

In recent months, the coastal city has seen a significant rise in crime, including shootings, hijackings and rape cases.
Mchunu weighed in on the alarming statistics.
"When you get to KwaZulu-Natal it is a fact that the concentration of crime is in eThekwini, hence the 42% of crime in the whole of KZN is occurring here in the metro."
