JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng government is promising to do everything to ensure residents have water during the festive season.
However, it is likely the province will not have water for most parts of the holidays due to high demand.

Premier Panyaza Lesufi spoke about this at a local government summit in Muldersdrift on Wednesday.
"Rand Water has given us a plan. Municipalities are here, and they’ve accepted the plan. We have put a proposal that will go to our citizens, and I'm convinced that we will manage the situation. We will not have that bleak Christmas on the basis of the plans we have put on board. But if we don’t, we have to be vigorous in managing our approach to this particular issue."
