Firefighters battle blaze at Cape Winelands District

CAPE TOWN - Firefighters are currently battling a blaze that is currently raging in the mountains near the Goudini Spa area in the Cape Winelands District.
The municipality said the fire was sparked by a sudden change in wind conditions during a planned and permitted controlled burn.
The municipality's Jo-Anne Otto said no damage to property has been reported.
"At this stage, firefighters and ground teams from CWDM’s Worcester and Robertson bases are on scene, assisted by two contracted ground teams and the fire services of Breede Valley Municipality".
