JOHANNESBURG - The mother of a six-year-old girl who was raped and murdered in Soweto has shared harrowing details about how she relentlessly searched for her daughter.

Amantle Samane’s lifeless body was discovered in Orlando on Monday.

It’s understood a man linked to her violent death allegedly lured her to his rented shack in the area, where the crimes are believed to have been committed.

The suspect is still at large and police have launched a manhunt for him.

Family and friends surrounded Ntombizodwa Samane, the victim’s mother, as she relayed the events that led up to the discovery of her daughter’s body.

“This man, undressed my daughter, she was wearing bum shorts which he pulled from one side to sexually assault my child. Her neck had marks suggesting that he was strangling her throughout the act and eventually killed her.”

Meanwhile, outside the home, angry residents, wielding sticks stones and tyres, gathered outside what’s believed to be the home of the suspect to hand him over to police.
