Good news for consumers as CPI figure eases for 4th straight month
Statistics South Africa said that this was the lowest inflation print since March 2021, when the rate was 3.2%.

JOHANNESBURG - South Africa's annual consumer price inflation (CPI) figure has cooled for a fourth consecutive month.
It eased to 3.8% in September from 4.4% in August.
Statistics South Africa said that this was the lowest inflation print since March 2021, when the rate was 3.2%.
Chief director of price statistics, Patrick Kelly: "Softer transport inflation, specifically lower fuel prices, dragged the headline rate lower. Fuel prices dropped for a fourth successive month and are on average 9% lower than a year ago."
