CAPE TOWN - Eastern Cape police have arrested two suspects linked to a mass murder in Bityi at Mthatha.

The men, aged 22 and 39 years old were nabbed in Msukwini on Tuesday.

The gunmen entered the Seti home last week and killed five family members, injuring two children.

The shooting follows an unrelated attack on 18 relatives in Lusikisiki days earlier.

Eastern Cape spokesperson, Siphokazi Mawisa, said one unlicenced firearm and ammunition were discovered in possession of the suspects.

"The suspects are charged for five counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder, armed robbery, and possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition. These suspects will appear at Bityi Magistrates Court on Thursday the 24th of October."
