Woolworths suspends 'Woolies Dash' in Hout Bay amid safety concerns

Woolworths has temporarily suspended its Dash same-day delivery service in Hout Bay due to ongoing concerns around driver extortion and security.

The retailer will monitor the situation and liaise with local authorities.

According to some reports, Checkers Sixty60 has paused deliveries as well.

The City of Cape Town and SAPS are powerless to ensure prosecutions or prevent further crimes unless extortion is reported, says Quintas.

"I'm not aware of any open case numbers from Saps, which is the right way to go about reporting extortion."
