LUSIKISIKI - The two men found with high-caliber firearms believed to have been used in the Lusikisiki massacre will also be charged for the 18 murders in November.
The pair made their first court appearance in the Flagstaff Magistrates Court on Monday, in the Eastern Cape.
They were arrested last week with the guns after 18 people were shot and killed in the Ngobozana village.
Zenanda Bhaya and Mawethu Nomdlembu made a brief appearance before the Flagstaff Magistrates Court on Monday.
They were initially charged with the possession of three AK-47s and Mannlicher rifles, believed to have been used in the mass killing.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said it would add more charges to their case.
"Their case was transferred to the Lusikisiki Magistrates Court, where they will be formally charged for the murders. The State will be opposing bail for the two accused," said spokesperson Luxolo Tyali.
The matter returns to court in November, where all six men arrested for the massacre will return to the dock together.
