Suspect nabbed following business robbery at Soweto mall

JOHANNESBURG - A suspect has been arrested following a business robbery at Eyethu Mall in Mofolo, Soweto.
On Friday, the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) officers were alerted by staff at Cash Converters after their store was robbed.
Officers pursued the suspects, who fled in a bakkie, and an exchange of gunfire took place.
The driver was arrested on the scene, while others managed to escape.
"The detained suspect faces multiple charges, including business robbery, possession of stolen goods, and attempted murder. The tactical response unit members were summoned to Moroka SAPS for ongoing assistance in this matter. JMPD officers are commended for displaying bravery," said JMPD spokesperson, Xolani Fihla.
