Stephen Grootes speaks to Gary Booysen, Director at Rand Swiss, about navigating the world of tech stocks and identifying lucrative investment opportunities.

Listen below.

Tech stocks have become a hot commodity for investors with companies like Apple, Microsoft, Tesla and now Nvidia leading the charge.

But, for beginners, diving into this fast-paced, fast-developing sector can be overwhelming.

Booysen says some caution is advisable, but admits there are gains to be made for the informed.

"A healthy dose of scepticism is probably right. The problem is with technological advances these days we see the results of the advance... but there are so many small developments."
- Gary Booysen, Director - Rand Swiss
"We don't even understand the industry. We don't understand the first thing about the developments that are happening."
- Gary Booysen, Director - Rand Swiss

Booysen says looking at stock price movements, it all comes down to valuation.

"Valuation is important. If you go and look at Microsoft's earnings through dot com, the share price halved, but earnings continue to grow."
- Gary Booysen, Director - Rand Swiss
"It really just come down to, is the valuation reasonable as to whether this is going to be the mother of all bubbles."
- Gary Booysen, Director - Rand Swiss
