JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC) in Tshwane has thanked the previous Democratic Alliance (DA)-led administration for a peaceful transition of power.
Over the past two months, the ANC has orchestrated the removal of the DA-led coalition from the executive in Tshwane.
A multi-party coalition headed by the ANC, Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and ActionSA is now in charge of all the crucial positions in the city.
On Friday, ANC regional chairperson Eugene Modise was elected unopposed as the municipality’s newest deputy mayor.
Modise, who is also the MMC for finance, said that the handover from the previous administration had been seamless.
"We are not ordinary, we are special, very important and our conduct must resonate and be congruent with that reality. Against this background, I want to call all members of this House and executive, irrespective of their political affiliation, to love one another so we are able to serve our people with love."
