Three more suspects arrested in connection with murder of Stellenbosch University student

CAPE TOWN - Three more suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of a Stellenbosch University student.
The first-year science student was found by a patrolling security guard in Borcherd Road in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Jesse Mitchell was killed in a knife attack on his 19th birthday.

Hours after the crime, a 19-year-old suspect was arrested. He's expected to make his first court appearance on Friday.
On Thursday, Stellenbosch police nabbed three more suspects, two men and a woman, in the Cloetesville area.
"Initial reports suggest that the 19-year-old first-year student was robbed and stabbed on Wednesday, 16 October 2024, in the early morning hours at about 03:00," said the police's Malcolm Pojie.
"The victim was riding his bicycle down Borcherd Street, Stellenbosch, when he was accosted, stabbed in the neck, and robbed of his personal belongings."
