LUSIKISIKI - Police have recovered guns believed to have been used in the Lusikisiki massacre where 18 people were shot and killed in the Eastern Cape in September.
The guns include three AK-47 rifles and a Mannlicher rifle.
Two more suspects were arrested in Flagstaff, just outside Lusikisiki on Thursday night.
This brings the number of suspects to seven now.
On Thursday, police top brass briefed the media on developments in the Lusikisiki massacre case.
They stated that they were still looking or the weapons used in the attack, with possible arrests.
Hours later, four high-caliber firearms were found in Flagstaff, some 45 kilometres outside of Lusikisiki.
Police spokesperson, Brigadier Athlenda Mathe: "Preliminary investigations indicate that the firearms were moved to another location after the killing of the Lusikisiki 18. Two more suspects have been arrested after they were found to be in possession of these rifles."
Mathe said that the weapons had now been sent for ballistic testing.
