JOHANNESBURG - Preparations are underway for a comfort service to honour the life of Pastor Ray McCauley on Thursday.

The founder of Rhema Bible Church passed away last week.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has accorded McCauley a special provincial official funeral, which will take place on Saturday.

Tributes have been pouring in following his passing, with many hailing the work he did with communities.

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi said McCauley was an outstanding and fearless citizen.

Lesufi's spokesperson Sizwe Pamla said: "Premier Lesufi hailed Pastor McCauley as an outstanding citizen and a conscious person who had no problem differentiating between right and wrong."
