Ramaphosa declares special official funeral category 2 for Mboweni
The former South African Reserve Bank governor died on Saturday after a short illness.

JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has declared a special official funeral category 2 for the late minister Tito Mboweni.
The former South African Reserve Bank (SARB) governor died on Saturday after a short illness.
Presidency spokesperson Vincent Magwenya said funeral preparations were underway at Mboweni's hometown in Tzaneen, Limpopo.
"The funeral will feature ceremonial elements provided by the South African Police Service. President Ramaphosa has directed that the national flag be flown at half-mast at all flag stations from tomorrow morning, Wednesday, 16 October 2024, until the evening of the funeral on 19 October 2024."
