'No DNA just RSA': Tyla, Candice Swanepoel strut their stuff at Victoria's Secret fashion show

JOHANNESBURG - What Tyla did at the Victoria's Secret fashion show can't be undone.

When the Grammy-winning vocalist appeared on the Victoria's Secret runway in Brooklyn, New York, on 15 October, she was the centre of attention.

Tyla Laura Seethal, whose stage name is Tyla, wore metallic lingerie with intricate decorations and feather wings. Tyla also bonded with Candice Swanepoel, a South African supermodel who appeared at the show.

The 22-year-old sang her new song, PUSH 2 START, as well as her hit song, Water.

After a six-year break brought on by poor sales and dwindling viewership, the Victoria's Secret fashion show returned. Although millions of people watched the runway show when it was first held in 1995, its audience gradually declined. By 2018, only three million Americans watched it, down from nine million in 2014.

Gisele Bundchen, Heidi Klum, Adriana Lima, and other famous models have all attended the glitzy event, where being one of the show's "angels" assured a certain level of fame.

Valentina Sampaio, a Brazilian model who became the first transgender model to join Victoria's Secret in 2019, made her catwalk debut at the nighttime event.

When she strutted the runway like a professional model, her fans were blown away.
