Seven-year-old Katleho Olifant died in hospital after a week in intensive care.

JOHANNESBURG - The sixth child who died, in a suspected poisoning incident in Naledi, Soweto will be laid to rest this weekend.

Seven-year-old Katleho Olifant died in hospital after a week in intensive care.

The child's five friends were buried on Sunday, after they allegedly consumed snacks bought from a local store in the area.

Much hope was pinned on the life of Olifant, who died on Saturday.

Many believed the child could have provided further information to assist police in their investigations.

His aunt, Sibongile Sekgalo said that doctors only informed the mother about his medical complications, leading up to his death, and she is not willing to speak about it.

"All this time Katlego was unconscious, they had to put machines for him to breathe, everything was on the monitor.

She says the family are struggling to come to terms with his death.

"We don’t want to see this ever happening ever, around the world, around the globe. This is not fair to anybody, no parent should bury their own child, especially at this young age. It’s devastating to be honest with you."
