CAPE TOWN - Police have seized counterfeit goods valued at over R2.5 million during an operation in Stikland.
Officers were deployed to a premises in Brug Street on Sunday and searched a truck.
They found 22 bags containing popular branded sporting socks.
The police's Joseph Swartbooi said that arrests were yet to be made.
"The provincial commissioner of the Western Cape, Lt-Gen Thembisile Patekile, who termed the trade in counterfeit goods as an economic sabotage, reiterated that the team will continue to remove counterfeit goods from the streets. He also issued a stern warning that landlords who are aware of illegal activities on their premises are also in the sights of SAPS."
