South Africa will be looking to walk away with maximum points this evening in its African Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

The lead up to the match has not been without drama as Congo faced serious logistical issues, only departing for South Africa on Thursday (10 October).

While this will be an important fixture for Bafana Bafana, the team must not feed into the chaos.

“They need to focus on what they want to do and achieve… Focus on the game, win the game and get it over and done with.”
- Vuyani Joni, Editor – Soccer Laduma

After a shaky start to the AFCON qualifiers, this will be a good opportunity for Bafana Bafana to capitalise on its home ground advantage.

“We need to shut the back door and make sure the chances we create upfront get converted. It’s pointless for us to create these chances and not score.”
- Vuyani Joni, Editor – Soccer Laduma
“We don’t know what to expect when we get to Congo. There have been a lot of mind games being played… it is also best to take care of these games at home to cover yourself when you are away.”
- Vuyani Joni, Editor – Soccer Laduma

Kick off at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium is 7 pm.

If you find yourself in Gqeberha, tickets are still available on Ticketpro at R60.
