JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance (DA) says it will vote against any further bailouts of struggling state-owned entities.
The party says this is one of its non-negotiables in the Government of National Unity (GNU).
The DA held a media briefing on Friday reflecting on the 100 days of its participation in the African National Congress-led GNU.
Through the GNU the DA has six ministers, five deputy ministers, and a deputy speaker serving in the National Executive.

DA leader John Steenhuisen says the party is not there to rubber-stamp mistakes of the past.
“SA has spent over R350 billion in bailouts for SOEs in the last ten years and that’s one of the reasons we are in such a difficult fiscal crisis. Money that should be available and readily available for teachers and nurses is now gone, it has to stop somewhere and we intend it to stop now.”
The DA has laid out some non-negotiables it won’t compromise on the GNU.
