The MMCs are likely to include councillors from the African National Congress (ANC), Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and Moya’s party, ActionSA.
She said leaders from the different parties are currently negotiating on positions and number of seats.
“What the leaders agreed on is that for each portfolio there must be an assessment of skills and experience. We must put our best foot forward. That is the principle the leaders are, informed they have agreed upon, beyond that I don’t have the details of who they are thinking of.”
Meanwhile, the EFF wants Moya to prioritise servicing marginalised and predominately black communities.
He was speaking during a media briefing from the party’s headquarters in Johannesburg on Thursday.
Malema expressed confidence in the metro’s newly elected coalition government.
The new mayor must ensure service delivery reaches all communities of the capital, he said.
“The party was in government only focused on the white areas. So, we hope the bringing in of the EFF, ActionSA, the ANC will have the interest for all not the interest of black people or the interest of white people but with priority being the black people. African townships, coloured townships followed by Indian townships.”
