A seagull was stuck at the top of a 20m street lamppost in Gordon's Bay.
Renet Engelbrecht took to Instagram (@rinetengel) to share the moment because her son (JJ) who she describes as a 'passionate conservationist' climbed up the street lamppost to save the seagull.
"Despite several phone calls to rescue services requesting help to free the bird, with no luck, a passionate conservationist JJ took matters into his own hands.
"Not all heroes wear capes," the caption also said while urging people not to try this dangerous pole-climbing move.
