CAPE TOWN - The Department of Correctional Services said that the conditions of parole for the hitman who killed music legend, Taliep Petersen, will be divulged at a later stage.
Waheed Hassen was serving a 25-year sentence at the Warm Bokkeveld Prison in Ceres after being found guilty of Petersen's murder in December 2006.
The Department of Correctional Services confirmed that Hassen was paroled on Tuesday.
Hassen was found guilty of shooting Petersen to death at his Athlone home, while the slain musician's wife, Najwa Petersen, was sentenced for plotting the murder.
Najwa is still awaiting a decision on her parole after Petersen's family lodged an objection.
Correctional Services officials are now reviewing the decision to grant Najwa parole.
