JOHANNESBURG - The draw for this season’s edition of the Carling Knockout tournament took place in Johannesburg on Tuesday afternoon.

The headline fixture in the round of 16 will see SuperSport United host Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs, who will have their last chance to snap their trophy drought before it stretches into its 10th year.

Amakhosi last lifted silverware in 2015 and will be desperate to get their hands on the cup after missing out on playing in the MTN8 competition.

Reigning champions Stellenbosch FC will have to shake off the disappointment of losing in the MTN8 final to Orlando Pirates quickly. Stellies begin their title defence with an away game against a struggling AmaZulu side, who are currently at the bottom of the Betway Premiership table after losing all three of their opening games in this campaign.

Other stand out fixtures in the round will see Cape Town City host Royal AM while Orlando Pirates will host newly-promoted Magesi FC and league champions Mamelodi Sundowns have been drawn at home against Golden Arrows.

The PSL will confirm the dates and venues for the fixtures in due course.
