JOHANNESBURG - The South African Communist Party (SACP) says the inclusion of the Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Government of National Unity (GNU) was the biggest betrayal to workers.
The SACP joined hands with the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) as it marched to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in Sandton.
As Monday marks World Day for Decent Work, COSATU held nationwide protests to highlight issues currently facing workers in the country.

The DA has been public in its opposition to the increasing of the national minimum wage, the National Health Insurance and Black Economic Empowerment.
The SACP's General Secretary, Solly Mapaila, says these are pro-poor and pro-worker policies.
He added parties that do not support such policies should have no place in government.
"Since the last 350 years of colonialism in this country, we have been to fighting to take back our land now with this GNU, this is the highest form of betrayal to our people. You workers have to stand up and defend what is yours.”
Mapaila said the government should find other ways of saving money, other than retrenching workers.
