Alleged drug mule busted at OR Tambo Airport rushed to hospital

JOHANNESBURG - An alleged drug mule arrested at the OR Tambo International Airport is being treated in hospital after suffering complications.
Police said the man, who is from Paraguay, experienced medical issues during the process of removing drugs from his body.
The suspect was arrested at the airport following a flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil after a medical exam found suspicious objects in his body.

Deputy national police commissioner Tebello Mosikili said the man passed 117 drug “bullets” of cocaine, each weighing about 10g.
"Every time a bullet came out, it came with traces of blood, which is an indication that there is a medical challenge in the stomach," said Mosikili.
