Motive behind deadly Nyanga shooting taxi-related

CAPE TOWN - Police said the motive behind a shooting incident in Nyanga on Friday, which claimed the life of one person, is taxi-related.

According to police, unidentified suspects fled the scene after the shooting and are yet to be arrested.

This is the second taxi-related murder incident at the Nyanga taxi rank in 2024.

In January, two taxi owners were shot and killed in the township.

Police spokesperson Frederick Van Wyk said: "According to reports, members attended to a murder scene at the mentioned address, and upon arrival, they found an adult male laying at the taxi rank with gunshot wounds to the upper body.
