CAPE TOWN - Police said the motive behind a shooting incident in Nyanga on Friday, which claimed the life of one person, is taxi-related.
According to police, unidentified suspects fled the scene after the shooting and are yet to be arrested.
This is the second taxi-related murder incident at the Nyanga taxi rank in 2024.
In January, two taxi owners were shot and killed in the township.
Police spokesperson Frederick Van Wyk said: "According to reports, members attended to a murder scene at the mentioned address, and upon arrival, they found an adult male laying at the taxi rank with gunshot wounds to the upper body. Anyone with information about this incident is kindly requested to contact Crime Stop at 08600 10111 or via the MySAPS app."
