Despite budget cuts in education sector, progress still being made, says Ramaphosa

JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa said that despite budget cuts and financial strain in the education sector, progress was still being made.
Delivering the keynote address at the 24th National Teaching Awards at Birchwood Hotel in Kempton Park on Saturday, Ramaphosa commended the nation’s educators for their resilience.
The event celebrated teachers who have continued to make an exceptional impact in the face of financial constraints and the looming threat of job losses.

"Minister Gwarube articulates it very well. With our fiscal challenges being so constrained, we must ensure that we go much further and do much more with the less we have," said Ramaphosa.
The president acknowledged the pressures on the education system but praised teachers for their dedication in overcoming these hurdles, reminding them of the pivotal role they play in shaping the country’s future.
