JOHANNESBURG - The three accused in the Limpopo pigsty double murder case will make their applications for bail on Wednesday morning.
Farm owner Zachariah Olivier and his two employees, Adriaan de Wet and William Musora, will appear in the Polokwane Regional Court.
They stand accused of shooting and killing Mariah Makgato and Kudzai Ndlovu and then dumping their bodies in a pigsty on Olivier's farm, just outside Polokwane.
The trio, accused of the shooting deaths of Makgato and Ndlovu and then feeding their remains to pigs on a farm near Mankweng in Limpopo, will make their applications for bail in the Polokwane Regional Court.
Olivier, De Wet, and Musora face charges of murder, attempted murder, and defeating the ends of justice.
Musora, a Zimbabwean national, also faces charges linked to contravening the Immigration Act.
Makgato and Ndlovu were allegedly trespassing on Olivier's farm, searching for food, when they were shot and killed.
Their decomposing remains were discovered by community members in a pigsty in August.
Ndlovu’s partner, Mabutho Ncube, who was with them at the time, was also shot but survived.
The State is expected to oppose bail following public outcry about the gruesome murders by the local community.
