CAPE TOWN - Child advocacy group, Women and Men Against Child Abuse, has welcomed the life sentences handed down to a couple found guilty of the murder of their toddler and abuse of another small child.
Belinda and Stefanus Bezuidenhout were convicted by the Gauteng High Court in June for the rape and murder of their three-year-old daughter, known as Baby B in 2021.
They were also found guilty of abusing their surviving six-year-old son, known as Little D.
The court heard that the couple would slam their three-year-old daughter against the wall and hit their six-year-old boy with an electrical cord.
Women and Men Against Child Abuse director, Miranda Jordan, said that they were pleased with the outcomes of this case.
"We thank prosecutor Riana Williams for her work in getting these successful convictions."
