Tshwane without a mayor as Cilliers Brink ousted

A total of 120 councillors voted in favour of the motion of no confidence against Brink, while 87 voted against.

TSHWANE - Cilliers Brink has been removed as Mayor of Tshwane through a motion of no confidence on Thursday, bringing his 18-month tenure to an end. 

A total of 120 councillors voted in favour of the motion, while 87 voted against. 

There was only one councillor who abstained. 

The capital city is now without a mayor.
