PRETORIA - The African National Congress (ANC) in the City of Tshwane says it has received the greenlight from its national leadership to go ahead and remove the Democratic Alliance (DA)-led coalition in the capital city.
Tshwane Mayor Cilliers Brink is due to face a motion of no confidence against him on Thursday.
Brink has been accused of running down the metro during the 18 months he has been in office.

ANC Tshwane secretary George Matjila said they met with the party’s national leaders on Wednesday night.
"The NWC [National Working Committee] should guide the process as to what unfolds in the City of Tshwane. A decision has been taken that the motion must proceed, so that’s the work we are going to discharge this morning [Thursday]."
Meanwhile, ActionSA has also confirmed it will be voting for the removal of Brink.
However, the DA said it would picket outside the Tshwane Council Chambers to protest against the removal of Brink.
