JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC) and ActionSA have not finalised a succession plan in Tshwane after the Democratic Alliance (DA)-led coalition government is removed.
The Tshwane council is on Thursday expected to vote on a motion of no confidence against Mayor Cilliers Brink and subsequently, his administration.
The ANC-sponsored motion is poised to pass with the party having garnered the majority of support in council.
ActionSA president, Herman Mashaba, said that his party's negotiations with the ANC didn’t go past removing the current DA-led coalition government.
"We are excited as ActionSA. Our councillors are ready to support this motion for this removal and we will start the negotiations with the ANC to see what type of government we can put together that can serve the residents of Tshwane."
Prior to leaving the governing coalition in Tshwane, ActionSA conducted a poll on 2302 registered voters in Tshwane.

ANC Tshwane secretary, George Matjila, said that removing Brink was phase one.
"Once that has been done successfully, well the numbers are fine, it’s given that we are going to manage to remove the executive mayor then we are going back to the negotiation table with the national leadership so they are able to guide the process."
Both the ANC and DA have not ruled out working together in the capital city.
