Woman’s ‘suicide pod’ death leads to multiple arrests
Several people have been arrested after a woman died using a suicide pod in Switzerland.

An American woman in Switzerland took her life using a ‘suicide pod’ made by the company Sarco.
The pod allows a person to end their life without any medical assistance.

The person inside the pod presses a button which reduces oxygen and increases nitrogen.

Assisted suicide is legal in Switzerland, but only in regulated circumstances.
A number of people were arrested on suspicion of inciting and aiding and abetting suicide.
Some people have raised concerns that pods like this ‘glamorise’ suicide.
