CAPE TOWN - With traffic volumes anticipated to rise during the school holidays, the Western Cape government is urging road users to be cautious.
The province's Mobility Department said traffic officers have been deployed in strategic areas to ensure the safety of all road users.
Traffic volumes are expected to increase during heritage week, with some visitors leaving, while others make their way into the province for holidays.
The Mobility Department is appealing to drivers to be vigilant, especially during this period, as they share the road with pedestrians and cyclists.
Motorists have also been warned not to drive while under the influence of alcohol to avoid unwanted consequences.
The department said drivers must ensure that their vehicles are roadworthy and adhere to speed limits.
