Veteran actor Timmy Kwebulana dies at 83

JOHANNESBURG -The family of Timmy Kwebulana, a long-time actor and singer confirmed that he has died.

The late actor's family released a statement confirming his death on September 19th, following a brief illness.

Kwebulana, who was born and raised in Langa Township, was a towering figure in South Africa's entertainment business, known for his incredible talent, commitment, and spectacular performances. 

"We give thanks for his life and all his contributions to us as a family and to the arts and entertainment industry for almost six decades. May his legacy continue to inspire us and those who are yet to come. We acknowledge that there will be lots of heartfelt messages of condolences towards the family and relatives. We appreciate them so much. However, we do request, especially from the media and our industry colleagues, that the family is given some time to gather and organise logistics and a way forward," reads the statement.

He made an unforgettable impact on the hearts of many South Africans with his exceptional portrayal of characters in famous TV dramas such as Aba Kwazidenge, Ingqumbo Yeminyanya, Unyana Womntu, Generations, Rhythm City, Forced Love, and Isikizi.
