JOHANNESBURG - After being handed over to the Hawks upon arrival from the United Kingdom, fugitive businessman Michael Lomas made a brief appearance at the Kempton Park Magistrates Court on Friday afternoon, where his case was transferred to the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court.
Lomas is due to be added as the fifth accused in the ongoing corruption case involving Eskom contracts valued at over R1.5 billion.
The businessman is alleged to have pocketed R745 million in the fraudulent deal.
Outside the court, a seemingly ill Lomas spoke briefly to Eyewitness News, saying that his future looked bleak.
"I can't answer any of that, but it's going to be bad, I'm not well."
Lomas is due back in court on 29 September, where he will formally face the charges.
