Cape Forum chairperson Hein Wyngaard said the safety audit would provide a snapshot of the school's safety level and identify areas of improvement.

CAPE TOWN - Civil society organisation Cape Forum says Overberg High School in Caledon, where Deveney Nel was killed in August, has accepted its offer to do a safety audit at the school.
The grade 10 pupil's body was found locked in the school's storeroom with stab wounds on 16 August.
A few days later, a 17-year-old boy was arrested for her murder and has appeared in court twice already.

Prosecutors have asked for some time to finalise their case, and the teen will be back in court on 16 October.
Cape Forum chairperson Hein Wyngaard said the safety audit would provide a snapshot of the school's safety level and identify areas of improvement.
"One does not want to overreact because this incident does not mean that Overberg High has become an unsafe space. This incident also does not mean that Caledon has become an unsafe town. But the nature of this incident is obviously a wake-up call for all of us."
