JOHANNESBURG - With just two days to go before showtime, the deadline has come and gone for music lovers to swap their Saturday tickets for the DStv Delicious Festival now that headliner Janet Jackson will no longer be performing.
Earlier this week, organisers announced the megastar would not be travelling to South Africa anymore for the two-day event, following the passing of her brother Tito Jackson.
Seventy-year-old Tito died after suffering a heart attack last week.
Many Delicious Festival fans were hoping to hear Janet’s rich discography live this weekend, but unfortunately, that won’t be happening.
The Together Again star was set to wow audiences with her inimitable voice and highly ranked performance style in a star-studded line-up this Saturday.
Organisers have, however, assured disappointed fans that a suitable artist would be added to the list of performers to make up for Janet’s absence.
Grammy Award-winning artists, including the Soweto Gospel Choir and internationally acclaimed neo-soul songstress Jill Scott, are still expected to take the stage at the music extravaganza.
