WATCH | 25 passengers injured after 2 train coaches derailed near Paarl

CAPE TOWN - Twenty-five passengers have been injured after two train coaches derailed near Paarl.
The derailment occurred at Dal Josafat Station on Tuesday.
The train was en route from Cape Town to Wellington Station at the time.
Metrorail's Zino Mihi said the injured commuters were taken by ambulance to various hospitals in the vicinity.
"There are no fatalities reported. Other passengers that were on board were transported home. At this stage, the incident is under investigation. The incident was reported to the Railway Safety Regulator."

PRASA, TRANSNET PROBING DERAILMENT CAUSE
An investigation by the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) and Transnet Freight Rail is underway to establish the cause of the Metrorail train derailment.
Mihi said emergency services were on site to assist injured commuters: "Our thoughts are with the passengers affected by the incident, and we wish those injured a swift and full recovery."
The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Western Cape is now calling on the PRASA and Transnet to conduct a full safety inspection of all rail infrastructure in the province.
